SŌKOKU (相剋)

a conflict between opposing or contradictory forces, each trying to overcome the other.

Anger kills Wisdom

Raging flames consume,

Mind’s voice lies silenced in ash,

Truth is buried deep.

Wisdom kills Anger

Truth dawns in silence,

Anger’s last scream fades to dust,

Alone in the dark.

Fear kills Freedom

Dark shadows wrap tight,

Wings are torn from battered dreams,

The void waits, patient.

Freedom kills Fear

Chains snap in shadows,

Fear’s hollow echo dies out,

Void accepts the soul.

Ego kills Love

The mirror’s cold glare,

Pride devours the fragile heart,

Nothing left but self.

Love kills Ego

Ego’s walls crumble,

Love tears through, then slips away,

Empty halls remain.

Jealousy kills Peace

A green storm descends,

Harmony’s corpse rots in gloom,

Silence suffocates.

Peace kills Jealousy

Jealousy withers,

Peace’s cold silence endures,

Isolation’s weight.

Doubt kills Faith

Dawn’s pale light grows dim,

Trust erodes into darkness,

Hope’s ghost lingers, thin.

Faith kills Doubt

Doubt’s faint whispers fade,

Faith’s last ember flickers out,

Solitude descends.
