J. Catrell Bynum is an author and graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His interest in trauma, resilience, identity, and the mind shapes both his academic journey and his writing. Through psychological fiction and reflective poetry, he explores the internal struggles people carry, especially the ones that are difficult to recognize, understand, or name.

His debut release, THE VOICE, is a psychological poetry anthology that confronts the inner antagonist many people mistake for themselves. His next release, Aftermath, is a dark psychological thriller exploring addiction, denial, violence, and the consequences that remain after everything begins to unravel. Every Monster Has a Name, currently in development, follows the relationship between a therapist and a twelve-year-old boy whose imagined world becomes a powerful way of expressing trauma, fear, grief, and the struggle to feel safe again.

Across poetry, short stories, and novels, his goal remains the same: to create work that encourages readers to look beneath the surface and confront what often remains unspoken. He is also the founder and operator of Catrevio Press, the independent publishing home established to bring his creative work to readers.
